Milan's fashion and travel enthusiasts have something to look forward to this winter as EasyJet, the low-cost airline, announced new direct flights from Milan's airports. Starting this coming autumn, the airline will add two new international routes, connecting Milan Linate Airport to Geneva, Switzerland, and Milan Malpensa Airport to Nuremberg, Germany.
The New Milan Linate to Geneva Route: Frequency and Fares
A recent press relase announced that beginning on October 25th, 2026, the new route between Milan Linate and Geneva will operate up to six times a week, with flights scheduled from Monday to Friday and on Sundays, catering to both business and leisure travelers. The airline has set the starting fare for this route at 31.99 euros per seat. This flight will provide easy access to the Swiss city, known for its international institutions like the United Nations' European headquarters and its charming historic center.

Debuting Flights from Milan Malpensa Airport to Nuremberg
The second addition for the winter season is from Milan Malpensa Airport, where the first direct flight to Nuremberg will take off on November 27th, 2026. This will be the airline's first route to the Bavarian city. The flight will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, making it easier for travelers to plan long weekend trips to Bavaria.
The debut in late November coincides with the opening of the famous Christkindlesmarkt in Nuremberg, one of Europe's oldest and most popular Christmas markets. With this new flight, EasyJet now offers six direct routes between Milan and Germany, in addition to the already served destinations of Düsseldorf, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, and Frankfurt.
Both routes are now available for booking through the official channels of the airline, including their website and mobile app.
What This Means for Milan and Its Travelers
Milan is a popular travel destination, as well as a hub for fashion and design. With these new direct flights, visitors can easily access two more European cities, adding to the already robust list of destinations served by EasyJet from Milan. This also opens up opportunities for business travelers, as Geneva is home to numerous international organizations, and Nuremberg is a major economic hub in Germany.
Furthermore, with the current pandemic situation, direct flights are becoming more popular, as travelers prefer to avoid layovers and minimize contact with others. These new routes will provide travelers with more options and convenience, making Milan an even more desirable destination.

Where to Stay in Geneva
For a short city break, Geneva’s Old Town (Vieille Ville) is the most atmospheric choice, putting you close to St. Pierre Cathedral, historic streets, museums and the lakefront. Travelers who prioritize easy rail connections may prefer the area around Cornavin Station, while Eaux-Vives combines lakeside walks with restaurants and a more residential feel, while remaining close to the historic center.
Where to Stay in Nuremberg
For a winter weekend in Nuremberg, stay in or around the Altstadt (Old Town). It puts you within walking distance of the medieval center, Nuremberg Castle and the Hauptmarkt, home of the famous Christkindlesmarkt. Hotels near Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof are another practical option: the main station sits just outside the Old Town walls, making it convenient for both sightseeing and onward train travel.
