WHAT IS EXPO MILANO 2015?

Also known as the World’s Fair 2015, Expo Milano 2015 is a universal non-commercial exposition. The 2015 year the theme is Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life to promote the global debate on sustainable, safe and quality nutrition, leaving a “legacy” for present and future generations. It is an event open to the public where educational and research institutions, organizations,  companies and professionals from diverse industries from artists to engineers all meet to propose their ideas for our planet’s future development. Expo Milano 2015 will aslo showcase the global celebration of food, and as we all know,  Italy is universally recognized for its culinary culture and healthy diet.

May 1, 2015 – October 31, 2015

WHERE ARE THE WORLD FAIR GROUNDS IN  MILAN?

The main area is at the Milan Fairgrounds FieraMilano Rho and Pero area which can be easily reached with the extra-urban metro system at Rho Fiera Milano stop (red line or blue line). There will also be many other events throughout the city before and during the Expo months.

HOW DO I FIND ACCOMMODATION NEAR THE MILAN FAIR GROUNDS?

HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?

After May 1st tickets cost from €24 to €182. Day tickets, senior tickets, family tickets and special evening ticket prices are available.

WHERE CAN I BUY TICKETS?

WHO WILL BE THERE?

Expo Milano 2015 is expected to attract up to 29 million visitors, including about 6 million foreign visitors, 1 billion virtual visitors and more than 130 countries represented.

WHO ORGANIZES THE EXPO?

The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) was founded in 1928 and regulates international expositions as well as other exhibits on behalf of more than 100 member nations. On 31 March 2008, announced that Milan will host Expo 2015. After the announcement of Milan as the selected city the organization Expo 2015 S.p.A was founded. It is a collaboration between local, provincial, and regional government as well as the Milan Chamber of Commerce. The offices of Expo 2015 S.p.A are in Piazza Duomo 14, Milan. HOW DO I GET AROUND MILAN DURING THE EXPO?

Metro, Busses, Trams and Airports (Linate / Malpensa / Bergamo Orio Al Serio)

The Milan public transportation system is set up quite well. Most areas of the city can be reached by metro, tram, filobus or bus. Services are also provided to and from the Malpensa, Linate and Orio al Serio Airports. The ATM =Azienda Trasporti Milanesi operates within the metropolitan area, managing a public transport network consisting of three metropolitan railway lines and 120 tram, trolley-bus and bus lines. Overall the network covers nearly 1400 kms reaching 86 municipalities. Besides public transport, ATM manages the interchange parking lots and the on-street parking spaces in the historical centre and in the commercial zones using the SostaMilano parking card system(a scrtach and display card bought in tabacco shops and at newstands).
