La Vendemmia Wine & Fashion

LA VENDEMMIA is an annual event in Milan – A unique experience in the world of luxury combining fashion with the finest wines. When I saw Barolo on the list, I went straight to BERLUTI! I love their signature atelier crafted and hand painted shoes.

We were welcomed by store manager Alessandro Allegri – he’s lovely I must say. Escorted to the tasting table for a glass of Altesino’s Brunello di Montalcino 2010. I had the most lovely chat with Alessandra Angelini, her name means “little angels”, which I believe flutter above her. She and her mother, a former lawyer, took over the Altesino vineyard in 1975. Destiny in their names, Grandma’s last name was Uva, meaning grape.

Famous for being the first in Moltalcino to create a single vineyard Barolo, “Montesole”, named after the hill the grapes grow on.
Next stop LARUSMIANI, we chose to taste the “sporting” wine, a Vermentino 2014 from Maremma.
A very debonair connoisseur explained to us that on a yacht in the Mediterranean, you are only fashionable if you have a chilled bottle of Vermentino from Belgvardo, on board.

Couldn’t wait to see JAEGER-LECOULTRE’s family of “Master Ultrathin” – Noticing the Champaign colored “quadrant” I turned to find the entire family of Louis Roederer: Grandpa Cristal, Grandma Cristal Rosé, Dad Brut Premier and my favorite of the entire family Mom Blanc de Blanc. An entire family reunion in the tiniest store on the Via.

Both Maisons were established over 150 years ago, hand painted tableware with Champaign that is still rotated manually: pure elegance.
Visiting one of my favorite Jewelry Boutiques VAN CLEEF & ARPELS, we find the beautiful couple between the classic floral Alhambra line and Zuani’s Crisp “ginestra flowery” white.

Just deciding on our next ‘degustazione’ we ran into the most lovely Canadian couple, Chris and David Miller. We just so happened into AGENT PROVOCTEUR.

And we did taste some Provocative Wines!
