However, in recent years, the fashion landscape has evolved, embracing a more inclusive approach. This February, Milan Fashion Week offers a curated selection of events open to the public, inviting fashion enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the city’s vibrant sartorial scene.

Street Fashion: Where Style Comes to Life All week

Even if you don’t have an invitation to the runway shows, Milan’s streets become a fashion spectacle of their own during Fashion Week. Outside key venues, you can soak in the electric atmosphere, spot celebrities, and admire the effortlessly chic street style of fashion insiders, influencers, and trendsetters. From Via Montenapoleone to Piazza Duomo, the city itself becomes a runway, offering endless inspiration and a glimpse into the latest trends. Fashion Hub at Palazzo Giureconsulti February 25th to March 2nd, 2025 – Piazza Mercanti 2

The Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana reopens the esteemed Fashion Hub at Palazzo Giureconsulti, dedicated to spotlighting emerging design talents. This edition features initiatives such as Designers for the Planet, Ensemble: Voices of Seoul, MFW Forward, and a special presentation by designer Charles De Vilmorin. Visitors can also engage in educational talks and cross-cultural business conversations. For those unable to attend runway shows, live streams will be broadcast on a LED screen outside the venue, ensuring everyone can experience the fashion week ambiance. The Fashion Hub welcomes guests daily from 09:30 to 19:00. Admission is complimentary.

Balenciaga | Shoes from Spain Tribute at Palazzo Morando February 21st to March 2nd, 2025 – Via Sant’Andrea 6

In honor of the 130th anniversary of Cristóbal Balenciaga’s birth, Palazzo Morando presents the “Balenciaga | Shoes from Spain” exhibition. This showcase pairs 25 of Balenciaga’s iconic creations with 25 bespoke shoe designs crafted for this occasion, creating a cohesive ‘total look’ envisioned for 2025. Accompanied by archival materials, including newspaper articles, photographs, and vintage fashion show invitations from the 1930s to the 1960s, the exhibition offers a retrospective of Balenciaga’s enduring influence. Admission is free.

In Y/Our Life at the Museo della Permanente February 26th to March 2nd, 2025 – Via Filippo Turati 34

Celebrating its 60th anniversary, K-Way® unveils “In Y/Our Life,” a multidisciplinary exhibition at the Museo della Permanente. Collaborating with iconic brands such as Bialetti®, BIC®, Borotalco®, Borsalino®, Chupa Chups®, Moleskine®, Polaroid®, and others, the exhibition features artists from around the globe reinterpreting these brands’ emblematic products through various art forms. The event includes workshops, performances, and guided tours. Entry is free upon registration via the official website.

New Liberty Fashion Show at the Civic Aquarium March 1st, 2025 – Viale Gadio 2

The Fondazione Centro Anch’io Onlus, in partnership with the MP Moda International Fashion School, presents the “New Liberty” fashion show at the Civic Aquarium. This initiative showcases six unique outfits designed by differently-abled individuals supported by the foundation, alongside creations from the institute’s students. This event exemplifies the fusion of creativity and inclusivity within the fashion industry. Admission is free, subject to venue capacity.

Fashion Issues at Triennale Milano February 24th and March 2nd, 2025, 18:30 – Viale Alemagna 6

The Triennale Fashion Department presents the second edition of “Fashion Issues,” curated and moderated by Vanessa Friedman, fashion director and chief fashion critic of The New York Times. These events delve into contemporary themes, challenges, and transformations within the fashion industry. Open to the public upon registration on the official Triennale website.
