The long history that connects Milan to the Italian Air Force turns 100 years old. To celebrate the anniversary, on Wednesday, October 1st, the National Acrobatic Patrol will perform a flyover over the city at around 1 pm, passing over the Duomo, giving citizens and visitors a moment of great emotion and national pride. For the occasion, a promotional stand of the Italian Air Force will be set up in Piazza Duomo, offerign information and promotional material. The celebrations for the centenary will culminate on Saturday, October 4th with an open day at the Linate Military Airport (opening from 10 am to 6 pm, last entrance at 5 pm). The event will offer numerous activities for citizens: static displays of aircraft and vehicles, exhibition areas, interactive activities, flight simulators and information stands. To participate in the Linate Open Day, registration is required through the official website of the Italian Air Force: http://www.aeronautica.difesa.it/events. Entrance will be from Viale dell’Aviazione 1, at the Military Airport. In preparation for the passage of the Frecce Tricolori (Italian Air Force aerobatic team), on Monday, September 29th, between 10:45 am and 11:10 am, a reduced formation of the National Acrobatic Patrol will perform a reconnaissance flyover of the area. All aerial activities will take place at authorized altitudes, in compliance with current regulations and in coordination with local authorities.
