Milan Design Week is a global trade event and is attended by press, architects, interior designers, manufacturers as well as art and design lovers and is held at the Rho Fiera. There are a number of satellite events going on as well all over the city. The neighborhoods of Brera and Tortona have the most events, but also Isola and Porta Venezia have lots going on too! Marta Sala Éditions & Museo Bagatti Valsecchi Honor Pier Fausto with a Reimagined Icon

For Milan Design Week 2025, Museo Bagatti Valsecchi presents the Pier Fausto chair by Marta Sala Éditions, a contemporary take on the historic Savonarola model. Designed by Lazzarini & Pickering, the piece pays tribute to Pier Fausto Bagatti Valsecchi (1929–2023), founder of the museum, and is featured in the exhibition The Secret Soul of Useful Things (April 7–13), curated by Federica Sala. Crafted in bronzed iron and upholstered in garnet red, the chair bridges Renaissance craftsmanship with modern design. A portion of proceeds supports the museum’s “Illumina il Museo” fundraising campaign. Additional showcases at the museum include works by Giovanna Ferrero Ventimiglia, Riant Collection, and an immersive installation by OTTA Nice Things, alongside the DesignMind design school project led by Lorenzo Palmeri.  

Yohji Yamamoto Residency Transforms 10 Corso Como 

model wearing blackFor Milan Design Week 2025 and beyond, Yohji Yamamoto partners with 10 Corso Como to unveil an immersive Residency running from April 1–22. Dubbed the “poet of black,” Yamamoto reimagines the pop-up space as a sensory journey through radical elegance, craftsmanship, and avant-garde fashion. The installation presents a curated selection from the Spring/Summer 2025 collections for both men and women, as well as pieces from the Discord line, offering visitors a rare, up-close encounter with the designer’s signature aesthetic of refined rebellion.  

Tacchini Debuts New Brera Showroom & New Collections

Italian design house Tacchini unveils its first-ever monobrand showroom in the heart of Brera, at Largo Claudio Treves 5, opening April 7 . Housed in an elegant early 20th-century apartment, the space reflects Tacchini’s refined design ethos. The launch highlights the new Bread and Butter Collection by Faye Toogood, including the sculptural and modular Butter Sofa, set amidst interiors styled by Charlotte de La Grandière. It’s a must-see for anyone looking to experience contemporary comfort at its most expressive.

Dedar Revives Anni Albers’ Textile Legacy

  Dedar presents Weaving Anni Albers, a refined textile collection developed in collaboration with the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation. Hosted at Torre Velasca, the showcase includes four reissued fabrics originally designed by Albers, along with a brand-new weave inspired by one of her paper drawings. Using advanced jacquard techniques, the collection captures the spirit of Albers’ modernist legacy—merging bold geometry, texture, and timeless form. The exhibition is curated by Carina Frey and Stefanie Barth, with spatial design by DWAPiazza Velasca 3/5, offering a first look at this intersection of heritage and innovation.

Yves Salomon Editions x Pierre Marie

French maison Yves Salomon introduces its new design project with a collection by Pierre Marie. Known for ornate, pattern-rich designs, Marie has crafted a series of shearling intarsia objects that combine the maison’s craftsmanship with a fresh decorative approach.

Marimekko & Laila Gohar Get Into Bed

At Teatro Litta, Corso Magenta, 24, Marimekko and designer Laila Gohar curate a playful, immersive installation exploring the theme of “All the Things We Do in Bed.” Featuring archival Marimekko stripes, the project challenges the boundaries between design and everyday life, transforming the bedroom into a vibrant hub of creativity.

A New Vision at Capsule Plaza with Expanded Global Reach

Capsule Plaza returns for its third edition, continuing to infuse new energy into Milan Design Week while expanding its global reach. A hybrid between a fair and a collective exhibition, Capsule Plaza will once again bring together designers, companies and institutions from various creative fields, bridging industry and culture with a bold and multi-sensory curation that spans interiors and architecture, beauty and technology, innovation and craft. Now in its third edition, Capsule Plaza cements its reputation as a dynamic hybrid between a trade fair and a collective exhibition. The 2025 edition broadens its scope, blending interiors, architecture, beauty, technology, and craft in a bold, multi-sensory curation that bridges industry and culture.

FRAGILE Celebrates 25 Years with “Handle with Care: Carlo Nason Glass Designer”

Design gallery FRAGILE marks its 25th anniversary with a tribute to legendary glass lighting designer Carlo Nason. From April 2 to June 6, the exhibition Handle with Care will present over 100 lamps and objects that showcase Nason’s innovative work in Murano glass. Hosted at FRAGILE’s gallery space on Via Simone D’Orsenigo 27, this curated display highlights the designer’s signature style—clean forms, layered textures, and avant-garde craftsmanship. Known for his collaborations with Mazzega, Kalmar, and Murano Due, Nason’s pieces offer a glimpse into the evolution of Italian lighting design. Accompanied by a catalog published by Silvana Editoriale, the exhibition continues FRAGILE’s mission to rediscover and spotlight historic icons of Italian design.

Miu Miu Literary Club Returns with “A Woman’s Education”

Miu Miu reintroduces its Literary Club for Milan Design Week 2025 with a powerful new theme: A Woman’s Education. Held at the Circolo Filologico Milanese on April 9–10, this immersive literary salon delves into themes of girlhood, love, and sex education through the lens of Simone de Beauvoir and Fumiko Enchi—two influential women in world literature. Featuring conversations and live performances by an all-female collective of creatives and intellectuals, the event fosters dialogue at the intersection of literature, design, and feminism.

Prada Frames Explores Design and Ecology

Prada Frames returns for its fourth edition, once again curated by Formafantasma. Running from April 6–8, the multidisciplinary symposium brings together voices from design, architecture, science, and humanities to explore the evolving relationship between design and the environment. With intimate talks and thematic lectures, the event offers a thoughtful, research-driven counterpoint to the spectacle of the Salone, and is free to attend, though seating is limited.

Laboratorio Paravicini & Mary Lennox Reimagine the Italian Garden

In an elegant melange of craftsmanship and flora, Laboratorio Paravicini collaborates with Berlin-based floral studio Mary Lennox for Italian Garden. The installation, running April 7–13 in two Milan locations Via Nerino 8 and Via Santa Marta 21, transforming a classic courtyard into a dreamlike space of structured greenery and hand-painted ceramics. Inspired by the symmetry of Italian formal gardens, the project fuses tableware with botanical architecture—an immersive moment of tranquility within the energy of Design Week.

Michael Anastassiades Presents New Lighting at Palazzo Danese

  Michael Anastassiades introduces a new collection of modular lights alongside a portable lamp created with Alessi, presented within the reopening of the Jacqueline Vodoz and Bruno Danese Foundation at Via Santa Maria Fulcorina 17. Known for his minimalist elegance and thoughtful design language, Anastassiades pays homage to Danese’s legacy with this site-specific exhibition, open to the public for the occasion. The space offers a rare glimpse into the interplay between light, material, and Milan’s design heritage.

MDF Italia

MDF Italia Embraces Timeless Minimalism at Salone 2025

At Hall 24, Stand C14 – D19, MDF Italia presents a refined and architectural space designed by Pitsou Kedem Architects and styled by Cameranesi Pompili. This year, the brand unveils a new sofa by Jean-Marie Massaud and a seating piece by Yabu Pushelberg, expanding its upholstered range. Highlights include updated editions of iconic collections—Random, Neil, S Table, and Cantle—and a renewed spotlight on Array by Snøhetta, which continues its global design journey after an acclaimed debut.

Kenneth Cobonpue and the FABLE Café + Lounge at Salone del Mobile

Returning to Milan with a bold and poetic collection, Kenneth Cobonpue showcases a fusion of craftsmanship and creativity at Hall 18, Stand D05. The highlight is FABLE Café + Lounge, featuring works like a sculptural side chair inspired by French lacework, where velvet-wrapped steel curves into floral silhouettes. The exhibit also features new designs inspired by the cosmos and nature, affirming the brand’s signature blend of tradition, storytelling, and handwoven artistry.

Fabbian Lights Up Euroluce with DROP–0 Collection

At Euroluce 2025 in Hall 10, Stand B07, Fabbian collaborates with Atelier Biagetti on the stand concept to present DROP–0, a striking collection of lighting designs by international names including 2050+, Estudio Campana, Kazuyo Sejima, and Robert Stadler. This curated ensemble of conceptual pieces reimagines how light interacts with form, texture, and emotion.

Platek Unveils New Identity and Outdoor Lighting Innovations

At Hall 06, Stand C29–C31, Platek presents its Euroluce showcase with a fresh brand identity designed by Pitis e Associati. The exhibition features new products created in collaboration with designers such as Christian Flindt, Sara Moroni, and Gordon Guillaumier. A special launch event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8 at 6:30pm, spotlighting Platek’s renewed direction in outdoor lighting.

Cierre1972 Showcases Collection 25 and New Collaborations

At Hall 9, Stand G03–H02, Cierre1972 brings its signature Italian craftsmanship to the fore with Collection 25, featuring designs by Stefano and Gianmaria Conficconi, Marco Fumagalli, and newcomers Bernhardt & Vella, Luca Erba, and Emilio Nanni. This cohesive collection of upholstery and furnishings reflects an evolving vision of elegance, comfort, and modern sophistication.

FAS Pendezza Brings Playful Design to the Fair

Step into a world of fun at Hall 05, Stand A06, where FAS Pendezza presents a dynamic suite of new game tools including a foosball table, shuffleboard, and cornhole—each designed by Basaglia + Rota Nodari. Fusing sport with style, these pieces are as much about leisure as they are about cutting-edge industrial design.

Ghidini1961 Explores Postmodern Elegance

At Hall 15, Stand A21–A25, Ghidini1961 welcomes visitors into a conceptual “postmodern Domus” crafted by architect Lucia Valzelli. The brand debuts new works by Lorenza Bozzoli, Johanna Grawunder, Richard Hutten, Paolo Rizzatto, and Robert Stadler, offering bold interpretations of furniture and home accessories that blend functionality with artistic flourish.

S-CAB Marks a New Era at Salone 2025

S-CAB enters a new chapter with its relocation to Hall 18, Stand E01, unveiling a fresh stand by Calvi Brambilla and Partners and new collaborations with designers like Zaven, Maddalena Casadei, Francesca Lanzavecchia, and Alessandro Stabile. The Marisco carpet by Casadei—a reinterpretation of traditional Sardinian weaving—adds texture to a collection rooted in versatility, innovation, and Italian craftsmanship.

Warli Presents Eco-Conscious Textiles and Outdoor Design

Contemporary rug brand Warli introduces a sustainable outdoor collection at Hall 24, Stand D41, with a stand concept by Paolo Zani. Showcasing new handloom designs in technical yarns and recycled PET, the exhibit features the Fourseasons seating system, textile-covered poufs, and the Scilla table and floor lamps—blurring the lines between indoors and out with tactile elegance.
