After leaving Milan, you will realize that your destination is close when you see the vineyards of Franciacorta from the train window; a 90 minute train ride through the green countryside will take you to Peschiera del Garda where the minibus’ driver is waiting for you to take you to Valeggio sul Mincio, only a 15 minute drive away.
You will visit an old wine cellar and taste excellent wines along with local cheeses and charcuterie, moreover you will be fascinated by the passion of the owner Ivano for his land, wine and oil, and by the contagious cheerfulness of his wife Adelina.
In a few minutes, you will reach by minibus the pasta workshop, where you can admire how skillfully the ladies of Valeggio knot the famous tortellino in memory of the thwarted love between the nymph Silvia and Captain Malco.
At the end of the workshop, enjoy a tortellini tasting during lunch in the outdoor patio or in the stone tavern: the Amarone tortellini are filled with vegetables, spinach and covered by a thin sheet.
A short walk through the village will take you to the Sigurtà Park and Garden. Be prepared for a wonderful experience in an oasis of peace and serenity. A blaze of scents and colours, a delight for your eyes and for your spirit in one of the most beautiful corners of Italy.
