Horse Cafe
Viale Monte Nero, 21- Milano
A small, almost hidden, wine bar and restaurant with homemade cooking. There are a few tables outside, but I recommend eating inside, it’s dimly lit giving it a romantic glow. It’s fun to look around at the decor; the owner is a Champion Equestrian Jumper, therefore the name, Horse Cafè and he has his competition prizes, cups, ribbons and medals as well as other horse memorabilia and art on display. Even if you’re not particularly an equestrian, it’s a curious little place. The food is fantastic. We’ve been here a number of times and each time we have asked them to choose for us and we have never been disappointed. They serve both fish as well as meat dishes. There is always something temping on the dessert menu as well. If you are in Milan only one or two nights, it’s a sure bet, you won’t be disappointed.
