Guided visits to the Ducal Palace of SassuolonnOn Sunday 15 October it will be possible to participate in two guided visits to the Ducal Palace of Sassuolo, one of the most important baroque residences in northern Italy.nnIts current appearance took shape at the behest of Duke Francesco I d’Este, who in 1634 he commissioned the architect Bartolomeo Avanzini to transform the ancient family castle into a modern suburban residence for the court. Wall paintings, stucco decorations, sculptures and fountains still today convey the sense of this “delight” which remained for a long time on the margins of public knowledge and attendance.
