In the heart of Milan, among the elegant streets of the Quadrilatero della Moda, lies an authentic jewel of 19th-century collecting: the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum. This extraordinary house museum, the result of the passion and vision of brothers Fausto and Giuseppe Bagatti Valsecchi, is a place where the charm of the past intertwines with the refined taste of the 19th century.
The two Milanese barons transformed their family home into an elegant neo-Renaissance residence, enriching it with a precious collection of 15th-16th century works of art and furnishings. But not only that: their dream was to create an environment that evoked the Lombard homes of the Renaissance, with a layout designed down to the smallest details. Even today, entering this museum, you can breathe in an atmosphere suspended in time, among decorated ceilings, inlaid furniture and works of inestimable value.
Open to the public since 1994, the Bagatti Valsecchi house also surprises with its innovations: already equipped in the 19th century with heating, running water and electric light, it represents a perfect balance between past and modernity.
