The museums and exhibitions of the Castello Sforzesco reopen Thursday June 25 in Milan kicking off “Summer Sforzesca” the summer cultural calendar promoted and coordnated by the Municipality of Milan.
The summer festival includes more than 40 concerts, 20 theatrical performances and 4 dance performances, with free admission or discounted prices.

The season starts off with the European Music Festival: at 16:30, the first concert dedicated to “The golden age of swing”, with the Civic Wind Orchestra of Milan in collaboration with Civica Jazz Band – Civic School of Music Claudio Abbado.

June 25-26, 2020
The Castle museum reopens, as do other civic museums within its walls – the Museo della Pietà Rondanini, the, Museum of Ancient Art the Museum of Decorative Arts and the Museum of Musical Instruments.
Some areas will be closed due to technical issues and repair; Museum of Furniture, the Pinacoteca and the Prehistoric section which will remain closed.
Rooms VIII to XV of the Museum of Ancient Art (including the Armory) are also closed to the public until Friday 3 July while the feature exhibit is being installed.

In the Sala della Balla, the exhibition “Competition MilanoVetro-35” also reopens. To celebrate the reopening, on Thursday 25 June, from 15:30 to 17:30, six students from the Carlo Tenca Musical High School will play the Tallone piano of the Musical Instruments Museum at the Sala della Balla in a musical performance with pages from Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Scriabin, Ravel, Debussy.

Cesare Colombo / Photographs 1952-2012
More than one hundred photographs from 1952 to 2012 dedicated to the city of Milan and its cultural, economic, political and social history on display in the Viscontea Room. Admission to the exhibition is free with entrance limited to 15 people every half hour, reservations required. Open Thursday-Sunday 11 am-6pm. From June 26, every week, from Tuesday to Friday
Guided tours “Sunset on the battlements” depart 19:30. Admire Milan from above at sunset, and on weekends.
A new cycle of outdoor guided tours of the castle exterior Open Air Museum also recommence. Here you can discover and learn about more than 130 works of art and archeology on display in the courtyards.

Libraries and Archives at Sforza Castle reopen to the public from Monday 29, by appointment only.
The specialist libraries and the archives of the Castello Sforzesco will gradually reopen starting from 29 June, with timetables and procedures to be verified on the website of each individual institution. Find info here https://www.milanocastello.it/en
Milan Museum Tickets after Covid-19
It is no longer obligatory to book online for paid museums; Castello Sforzesco, Archaeological Museum, Museo del Novecento, GAM, Museum of Natural History or the Civic Aquarium.
Visitors can again purchase tickets at the museum entrance.
However, it is recommended to book online in advance.
Reservations are required both for entry to the Royal Palace and PAC, and for exhibitions set up in museum venues at Castello Sforzesco, Archaeological Museum, and Museo del Novecento.
Guided visits for small groups are also now available at Castello Sforzesco, Archaeological Museum, Museo del Novecento, GAM, Museum of Natural History.
