Leonora Carrington was a truly unique woman and artist, an immigrant and exile, who used her imagination as a tool for resistance and knowledge. Through her paintings, writings, and critical thinking, she explored the fusion of art, mythology, ecology, feminism, and spirituality. This exhibition at Palazzo Reale not only celebrates her influential and visionary work, but also sheds light on her cultural roots and involvement in the surrealist movement.
The exhibition includes a range of artworks, photographs, books from her personal library, and previously unpublished writings and documents, providing a rare opportunity to discover one of the most influential and visionary figures of the 20th century.
This exhibition is a collaboration between the City of Milan, Palazzo Reale, MondoMostre, Civita Mostre e Musei, and Electa S.p.A. It is curated by Tere Arcq and Carlos Martín.
