Coming out of COVID-19 lockdown: Events, galleries and museums in Milan started opening once again in Feb 2021, but it is wise to check with the venue and book tickets in advance.
NEW! A Saturday afternoon in the quiet and elegant residential district of Fopponino in the footsteps of the great architect Gio Ponti (Milan, 1891 – 1979).
We will start from his house in via Dezza 49 and from there we will move between the streets Caravaggio – Letizia, to discover the Domus Aurelia, Flavia, Livia, Onoria and Serena, important examples of his reflection on living.
Then we will go to piazzale Aquileia to visit the church of San Francesco al Fopponino, Gio Ponti’s masterpiece begun in 1958. Then, we will visit the recently restored 17th century Fopponino church, telling the story of a central yet often forgotten place.
