Air France has announced the launch of free high-speed WiFi on all flights, making it easier for travelers to stay connected and entertained during their journey. This new service is now available on all cabins and can be accessed by simply logging into their Flying Blue account. With two Embraer 190 and two Airbus A220 aircrafts already equipped with this technology, Air France is gradually rolling out this offering across its entire fleet, including for the first time on regional flights.
Passengers on WiFi-enabled flights can easily stay in touch with loved ones, stay updated on global news, watch TV, movies, and series, and even play online games. The service is accessible on smartphones, tablets, and laptops, with the ability to connect multiple devices at once.
To access this service, customers can log into their Flying Blue account, the loyalty program of the Air France-KLM group. Those who do not have a Flying Blue account can create one for free and within a few clicks on board.
Air France plans to offer high-speed WiFi on 30% of its planes by the end of 2021 and across its entire fleet by the end of 2026. During this transitional period, the company will continue to offer a connectivity option for non-WiFi equipped planes, including a free “message pass” for Flying Blue members and a paid option for other usages.
In order to provide this exceptional service, Air France has partnered with Starlink, the world's leading connectivity provider. Starlink offers a high-speed, low-latency internet connection through a vast network of satellites in low orbit, ensuring reliable connectivity during flights.
Passengers flying in La Première class will continue to have direct access to WiFi, while the Ultimate and La Première Flying Blue members will also have access to free WiFi.
