Now, with the unveiling of Luce del Lago Spa, the hotel’s tradition of excellence continues, offering guests a new dimension of luxury and well-being.

We stayed two nights at Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni as guests and experienced not only their world-class hospitality services and Michelin-starred restaurants but also the newly refurbished Luce del Lago Spa — an experience that intertwines modern wellness with the ageless beauty of Lake Como.

Luce del Lago Spa, spanning an impressive 1,500 square meters, is the largest wellness spa on Lake Como. Thoughtfully designed to reflect the shimmering waters, pink-hued sunsets, and sandy shores of the lake, every detail of the spa is a tribute to the natural beauty of its surroundings. From the moment you enter, a sense of peace embraces you, carried by the soft lighting, serene color palette, and the delicate scent of essential oils lingering in the air.

The Multi-Sensory Sauna Experience: First of it’s Kind

One of the standout features of Luce del Lago is the Private Spa Suite, which houses a groundbreaking multi-sensory sauna experience. Three immersive sensory journeys — Pulse of Life, Water Bliss, and Starlight Serenity — combine light, sound, and aroma to create an unprecedented kind of relaxation.

I had the opportunity to preview this concept during my stay. Although I did not complete a full sauna session, I experienced a glimpse of how the shifting lights, curated soundscapes, and delicate aromas blend together, promising a deep sensory retreat unlike anything else.

The Hammam and Private Spa Experience

Another highlight of the spa is the Hammam Complex, a luxurious sanctuary adorned in calming shades of blue, designed for intimate purification rituals. With a tepidarium, a caldarium, heated seating, and dedicated exfoliation spaces, it offers a deeply restorative experience.

Unfortunately, the Hammam was fully booked during my visit, a testament to its popularity. Instead, my husband and I opted to experience a couples massage treatment, which turned out to be a perfect alternative.

Treatments Inspired by Lake Como’s Natural Beauty

The treatment rooms at Luce del Lago are truly special. My husband and I were guided into a multi-chromotherapeutic suite, featuring two beds placed side-by-side under the soft glow of therapeutic colored lights. The room was filled with relaxing, gentle music, setting the perfect atmosphere for our couples massage.

Our therapists worked in unison and intuitively. Fabio was treated by Sara and I was cared for by Antonella. She expertly adapted her technique to my needs, using just the right amount of pressure and focusing on stubborn areas where I tend to hold tension — particularly in my neck and lower back. The session was not only relaxing but also restorative, addressing deep-seated stress points with a skilled and nurturing touch. It was a beautiful shared moment of calm and connection that created a memory we can  treasure.

Beauty Services and Beyond

To complement the wellness experience, Luce del Lago also offers a bespoke hair and nail salon, allowing guests to continue their renewal with expert beauty services. Whether preparing for a special evening in Bellagio or simply wanting to extend the feeling of luxury a little longer, it’s a lovely addition to the spa’s offerings. If I were attending a wedding celebration in Bellagio, this is exactly where I would go to look and feel my best.

Ms. Bucher is very much a hands-on presence, infusing every detail of the spa with her personal philosophy of grace, passion, and authentic well-being.
